Sucrase is an enzyme that breaks down sucrose in the digestive tract for absorption into the bloodstream. Phase 3 contains a substance found in plants called L-arabinose that functions through its effects on sucrase digestion and works synergistically with chromium to support healthy insulin and blood sugar levels. L-arabinose targets the sucrase enzyme, helping to delay the rapid rise in blood sugar associated with sucrose consumption. The patented seaweed extract (InSea2) has demonstrated effects upon both alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase. Alpha-glucosidase enables carbohydrate absorption by helping to break down simple carbohydrates into glucose. Alpha-amylase is an enzyme that helps with the breakdown of large carbohydrate molecules like starch into glucose polymers (linked chains of glucose molecules). These simple sugars are then broken down to glucose by the alpha-glucosidase enzyme.
